AHA announces promotions in DC office
The AHA in September announced several promotions in its Washington, D.C., office. Tom Nickels was named executive vice president of Government Relations and Public Policy, succeeding Rick Pollack who became AHA president and CEO Sept. 1. Nickels was senior vice president for federal relations. Robyn Bash was named vice president of government relations and public policy operations. She also will continue as coordinator of executive branch relations and serve as a key liaison to congressional offices and health systems.

Fundraising Up at Med Schools, Teaching Hospitals
Fundraising at U.S. medical schools and teaching hospitals increased more than 7 percent in 2014, continuing a recovery trend from the low-giving years of the recession, according to a survey by the Association of American Medical Colleges.
The 2014 Annual Development Survey analyzed data from 139 AAMC-member institutions reporting development program activity for 2013–2014.
