Kathryn K. Leonhardt, MD, MPH, CPPS, CPHQ, is principal consultant with Joint Commission International (JCI). She is a preventive medicine/public health physician with over 30 years in leadership positions in public, private and academic health care settings. Dr. Leonhardt has conducted research, published, and taught in the areas of quality, patient safety and patient experience. Since joining the Joint Commission, Dr. Leonhardt has led the education and training of over 3,500 health care professionals from over 40 countries in quality and patient safety.

John Berry, MSN, RN, headshot

John Berry, MSN, RN, is specialist principal with Joint Commission Resources (JCR). He provides consultation, education and technical assistance related to CMS requirements, including federal surveys, laws, regulations, guidelines and standards for health care facilities. Mr. Berry serves as CMS faculty and the CMS subject matter expert in the development and presentation of CMS related education.
