NYT publishes AHA letter on why site-neutral policies jeopardize access to care

Site-neutral policies fail to recognize that not all sites of care are created equal, writes AHA President and CEO Rick Pollack in a letter to the editor published June 25 in the New York Times. "Harmful payment cuts to hospitals would jeopardize access to services, especially for rural and other underserved communities. Patients and communities need hospitals to continue innovating and providing access to vital round-the-clock care." The letter responds to a June 17 op-ed, “Even Doctors Like Me Are Falling Into This Medical Bill Trap.”
