Our last issue of Trustee
This issue marks the final issue of Trustee magazine.
A year ago, the American Hospital Association launched a new model of trustee education for our members, one focused on emerging challenges in the health care field and designed to engage trustees in our grassroots advocacy to support their local hospital/health system and the patients they serve.
AHA Trustee Services — accessible on the AHA’s website at www.aha.org/trustees — now serves as the hub for the AHA’s trustee education efforts. The available resources focus on good governance practices and thought leadership related to what it means to be a high-performing board, as well as the trends and forces transforming the health care field and the impact they could have on your organization and communities. The multimedia offerings include not only written briefs, organized for easy download and dissemination, but also video content and on-demand webinars that can be used for boardroom education and discussion. These resources are shared via a free, quarterly e-newsletter called AHA Trustee Insights.
Based on the positive response to AHA Trustee Services and our new approach to the digital delivery of trustee education and information, we realized that we have an excellent opportunity to marry Trustee Insights and Trustee magazine into one, more robust digital package. As a result, this issue marks the last for Trustee magazine. Its rich content, workbooks and perspectives will live on as part of an enhanced, bimonthly Trustee Insights.
We are immensely proud of the great work that has been published in Trustee magazine over the years and are committed to continuing to bring you that content in new and more accessible ways. I hope that if you haven’t yet explored the resources available to you from AHA Trustee Services, and on the AHA’s website at www.aha.org/trustees, you will soon. There you can sign up for the new, enhanced, digital Trustee Insights, which will begin publishing every other month starting in July.
Strong, informed governance is vital in this rapidly changing health care landscape. And the AHA is committed to ensuring that hospital and health system boards have the information and resources they need to navigate their organizations through the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. The enhanced Trustee Insights also will include more insight and analysis on changing dynamics in the field and what they mean for boards as they plan for the future. We look forward to your feedback as we continue to evolve to meet your needs in this changing digital world.
