Introducing the new AHA.org

The American Hospital Association recently revamped AHA.org, its flagship website, to better serve members and the health care community at large, including hospital and health system trustees.

The new AHA.org is mobile-friendly and more personalized than in the past, and features streamlined navigation to help you more quickly locate the resources you want, whether it’s the latest health care news, a statement from the AHA on a breaking issue or a new report on emerging trends. The site’s navigation is topic-based, enabling you to find documents both by subject and via a new-and-improved search engine.

The site also includes several new features. First is an enhanced Events & Education Calendar to help you keep track of activities from across the association, including those of the AHA’s various affiliates. You can browse every event offered at a glance with our easy-to-use calendar, then drill down for more information. This makes it easy to find webinars and in-person events on topics of interest to you and your board.

AHA.org also features a new members-only Presentation Center that provides hospital and health system leaders with easy-to-use PowerPoint presentations, corresponding talking points and background information on top health care issues. These presentations may be particularly helpful for board meetings, providing updates on trends and their implications.

The website is also home to AHA’s Trustee Services, a new initiative begun last spring to support good governance in the changing health care environment by providing trustee-focused resources, tools and education that foster high-performing hospital and health system boards.

These resources include Trustee Insights, a quarterly, multimedia newsletter that includes not only briefs on some of the hottest topics in health care, but webinar and video content that can be used for boardroom education and discussion. If you’re not already receiving it, you can sign up to have Trustee Insights delivered free to your email inbox at trustees.aha.org/subscription.

These are just some of the enhancements and new features that AHA.org has in store. You can visit the site for a quick video tutorial and sign up for an account to create your own dashboard to track resources according to your interests.
