Learn from experts, connect with peers
The American Hospital Association’s Annual Membership Meeting offers you and your fellow trustees an invaluable opportunity to learn from each other, as well as to hear from thought leaders across the health care and political fields. The meeting, to be held May 6-8 in Washington, D.C., convenes some of the top political, policy, opinion and health care experts and features a dedicated Trustee Track with sessions just for hospital and health system trustees.
On Sunday, May 6, Kimberly McNally, R.N., a trustee at University of Washington Medicine and a former AHA board member, will moderate an interactive panel session on key workforce issues and how boards should play an integral role in strategic workforce planning and development. After the session, there will be a brief networking break.
Following the break, governance expert Pamela Knecht, CEO of ACCORD LIMITED., will explore essential governance practices that all boards should employ to provide needed leadership during times of significant change.
On Monday, after a full day of keynote sessions and executive briefings, trustees can join colleagues from across the country for a reception to meet and continue your networking.
Finally, Tuesday will kick off with a trustee leadership breakfast, featuring Washington Post columnist and frequent NBC and MSNBC commentator George F. Will, who plans to share insights and political predictions for 2018.
In addition to the trustee sessions and reception, registration includes three interactive federal forums as well as the AHA’s thought-leading executive briefings on the most pressing topics facing the hospital field. Join nationally recognized opinion leaders like Peggy Noonan, a Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist for The Wall Street Journal, and media heavyweights like CBS legend Bob Schieffer and chief CNN Washington correspondent and anchor Jake Tapper for discussions on the current political landscape and what it means for hospitals and health care.
You’ll also have the chance to commend recipients of the AHA’s various awards and prizes honoring individual and hospital leadership toward advancing health in America. As always, there will be many more opportunities to network with colleagues from other hospitals and health systems.
Please make plans today to join us for this extraordinary meeting. Full registration details can be found here.
