TeamSTEPPS Master Training Course at Northwell Health

This course will take place at Northwell Health in New Hyde Park, New York.

The Cornerstone of AHA’s Team Training Program, the Master Training Course is a focused, two-day learning experience with a train-the-trainer approach. Team Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and Patient Safety (TeamSTEPPS®) is an evidence-based set of teamwork tools designed to optimize team function, and ultimately patient outcomes. Participants are equipped with TeamSTEPPS fundamentals, as well as skills and resources for training and coaching peers on the behaviors needed to achieve positive results. This course is taught by — and produces — Master Trainers.

The first day of the course will focus on the Fundamentals. It will introduce TeamSTEPPS and go through the first 7 modules. Participants will be learning the “what” of TeamSTEPPS. The second day will focus on Training and Coaching which includes workshops, interactive games and a teach-back activity to help learners apply what they have learned. Participants will be learning and apply the “how” of TeamSTEPPS.
