Employers Plan Changes for Health Coverage
Many large employers plan to keep health care coverage cost increases to 5 percent for the third consecutive year by making plan changes, adopting consumer-directed health plans and expanding wellness initiatives, according to the National Business Group on Health. The annual survey of the nation’s largest corporations also found that 48 percent of employers expect that at least one of their benefit plans will trigger the so-called “Cadillac” excise tax threshold in 2018 if they don’t take action and 72 percent expect one of their plans to trigger the tax by 2020.
